Coach Diego Ramirez

Coach Diego brings authentic Thai boxing to Austin. Born in Mexico City and trained in Bangkok for over a decade, Diego competed at the highest levels of Muay Thai, including winning a title at the legendary Lumpinee Stadium — one of the most prestigious achievements in the sport.

With over 80 professional fights across Thailand, Japan, and the United States, Diego's technical knowledge is encyclopedic. He returned to the US in 2018 to begin coaching and joined Chop MMA's founding team that same year.

Diego's teaching style balances traditional Thai training methods with modern sports science. His classes are known for their intensity and attention to detail — he'll correct your stance 100 times until it's perfect because he knows those fundamentals are what separate good fighters from great ones. Several of his students have gone on to compete in professional Muay Thai and kickboxing organizations.
